Sports in the United States are in an uncharted state of affairs right now. It is bad enough my league leading Milwaukee Bucks (NBA) are facing the possibility of having their picture perfect season come to a screeching halt with the possibility of this season becoming null and void. On top of that, my personal favorite men’s college basketball team, the Wisconsin Badgers, were getting hot at the right time before the NCAA decided to forego the March Madness tournament. This halted everything, but still, The Badgers actually wound up winning ESPN’s march madness simulated tournament, which was enough for me to say let’s hang the championship banner. As if that is not enough of a kick in the pants, to now hear Aaron Rodgers and the fierce Green Bay Packers may not be able to bring the Lombardi trophy back home this year really hits us Wisconsinites below the belt. You see, sports and sporting events are not a hobby in Wisconsin, but a sense of pride and a way of life. All of the experts predicted many more deaths and at this point it’s time to admit fault and reopen our nation completely. Even playing in an empty arena without fans would be better than nothing. Let our athletes get back to work, let their seasons begin and continue. To some people sports may be just amusement, but in my life I deem it essential. Let’s bring back sports in America and bring back a sense of normalcy throughout the country. …. COMMENT BELOW ..
