Virus and Vaccine, Either May Affect Male Fertility, ‘May Want To Consider Freezing Sperm’

Yikes! You read that correctly. In a recent coronavirus vaccine study by the University of Miami, men were just warned that if they plan participate in the study, that “To protect fertility, some men may want to consider freezing their sperm prior to vaccination.“. Now if that doesn’t scare the hell out of you, I don’t know what will.

Recently, Dr Ranjith Ramasamy, who is a reproductive urologist with the University of Miami Health System, came out with results of another test that concluded that men who were infected by the coronavirus, still had the virus present in their testicles even up to 6 (six) months later. This made the team of scientific investigators question whether or not the virus itself had any effect on sperm, or the reproductive system. This, of course, then led the team to question whether or not the vaccine will have any effects in the same areas. Logically, if the virus is present in the male testicles, and the vaccine produces some sort of ‘effect’ to the virus (like attempting to kill it, or alter it), then will that effect the testicles themselves also? That is what this new study is hoping to find out. (Text continued below video)

Dr Ranjith Ramasamy said “We’re evaluating the sperm parameters and quality before the vaccine and after the vaccine. From the biology of the COVID vaccine we believe it shouldn’t affect fertility but we want to do the study to make sure that man who want to have kids in the future to assure them it’s safe to go ahead and get the vaccine.”. The study also says that “Study participants must have a fertility evaluation before receiving the vaccine. To protect fertility, some men may want to consider freezing their sperm prior to vaccination.
