No, I did not write out that number incorrectly. In the month of April 2020, over one million, seven hundred and ninety seven thousand, nine hundred and ten firearms were sold in the United States. The report was released by SAAF; Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting. The number is HUGE when compared to April of 2019. The number of firearms sold increased almost 72% from 2019 to 2020. When the SAAF was questioned, their statement was “April 2020 U.S. firearms unit sales [were] at 1,797,910 units, a year-over-year increase of 71.3% from April 2019. Likely single handgun sales (1,085,046) increased year-over-year by 83.1% whereas single long-gun sales (560,353) increased year-over-year by 51.7%.” … So it’s quite obvious that handguns out sold long guns by almost double. The SAAF continued “All other likely background check-related sales (152,512) increased year-over-year by 74.6%. This includes so-called ‘multiple’ sales where the allocation between handguns and long-guns cannot be determined from the data record.”
They released even more stats; Background check-related sales came to 152,512, which increased almost 75% from the year before. They stress that the main part of the sales were handguns, at almost 2 to 1 to long guns. Even that number is up about 10% since last year too. There could be several reasons for the increase in sales. One of the main reasons, I believe, is that people want to be able to defend themselves, and there families, due to the craziness from the Coronavirus. It also appears as if many liberal governors, mayors and their cities and states may turn into battle grounds with American Citizen Patriots that have had enough. In fact the hashtag #JustSayTheWord is beginning to spread and I believe things are about to blow, but I guess only time will tell.
